Making pizza in big green egg (can't get it up to temp)

When I use my egg for steaks I have no issues getting the temp up to 700 to sear. I've tried several times to make pizza on the eggs and seem to top out at 400. The plate setter seems to restrict the air flow but I need it in there (turned upside down) for a flat surface and i put my pizza stone on that. I know people use them for pizza all the time and i know from some of the egg sites they use the plate setter but not sure if anyone has any idea to get it up to 700.
