in floor heat - isolated circuit?

Curious to know if a small in floor heat mat would require it's own dedicated circuit.

I am looking at a small 3x5' grid that claims a max draw of 5A.

I know it is likely best practice and recommended, but if possible I'm looking for a specific MN code reference.

It is my interpretation of the code that you do not need a gfci or a separate circuit to run the infloor heat. I am not your inspector it is just my interpretation. I earlier ask if it was a bathroom just to double check to see if it needed the gfci protected or not.

Thank you for your insight! I think I am going to scrap the idea. I would personally prefer to isolate the circuit, but I'm all out of room in the panel & mine doesn't accept the tandem breakers like I was hoping it would. If I were to put it on an existing circuit, it would go on with the bath fan, a pair of vanity lights & serve a small unused bedroom (one light with nothing more than an alarm clock or lamp plugged in). I figure about 4a max off of all that, add 5a for the heat & I'm still under 10 max load. If code permitted it, I'd be kosher, but my uncertainty encourages me to drop the idea.

Looks like this bathroom floor is going to be a little chilly in the winter time smile
