I've noticed that when fishing a suspended school of crappies that by going darker in color has improved my catch lately. Changing from a glow red to maybe a glow blue or even a non-glow purple has been producing. During the day I've been using blacks, smokes, and dark greens. Might be worth a shot if you are having a hard time icing fish.
