RHW
I realize there are many conditions and circumstances that dictate growth rates for gills. Rivers vs lakes, ponds and seasons, etc.. However, does anyone know of the average rate, given good conditions in southern MN?
merc
Don't know about southern Minnesota, as they should grow a little faster there, but I was just reading about a lake I fish a lot on in the northern part of the state. It stated a 6" fish was 6 years old and a 10" was a little over 10 years old. They also stated growth rates very by the fertility of lakes. The lakes down there should be morer fertile and the growth rates should be a little better. Hopes this helps!!!
DoctorB
Track down a copy of "Bluegill Growth Rates in Minnesota" published by Cynthia Tomcko and Rodney Pierce. It breaks down growth rates by lake classes.
