mrpike1973 Posted October 24, 2011 Share Posted October 24, 2011 hi 15 hp evinrude 1978. after putting it away for the winter i noticed water under it just small puddles. upon further inspection the weep hole directly in front of the prop had water in it. i took a can of compressed air shot i little in then took i wire and cleaned it i got about a coffee can of water i dont hear any water in it any more glad i caught this do i need to redo my lower lube or are they separate cavitys thank you Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CAMAN Posted October 24, 2011 Share Posted October 24, 2011 You should always drain and refill the lower unit lube every fall to make sure everything looks good. But to answer your question, that cavity is separate from the lower unit and as long as the seals are good you should have no water in the lower unit.
