jumboperch
I was just wondering if anyone has an otter stealth boat. Any comments you have about them and what you like and dont like. I might be purchasing one and would like to know what people think of the ones they own. Thank you.
Finlander
My son has a 2000 Stealth and it is amazing to say the least! I wouldn't go out on a big lake with possible roller waves, but small lake and potholes it works real good! You can pull it into any weeds and floating bog. My son has his dog sit on the front deck the whole time and calls it his kennel. Can't tip unless you get out of the water and physically tip it! grousehunter
I used to own the 2000. Overall it was a really nice boat for duck hunting. It was incredibly stable..could pull my 200lb self into the boat in chest deep water without worrying about it tipping. It was a little heavy though if you plan to pull it very far..flat ground and downhill wasn't all that bad though..up hill was no easy task. One thing I did not like was it seemed to kind of suck to certain duck slew waters making it a lot harder to paddle. I prefer a canoe over it, but it was nice not having to worry about stabilizing the stealth if not pulling up onto more solid ground/bog. I would consider buying another one someday though. I think if you can get your dog to ride calmly in a canoe then that is the way to go though, but the stealth is safer overall when dealing with cold water. DHost21
Bought a jon boat from a friend at a good price and he threw the stealth 1200 in with it saying he hated it. I was skeptical but we found a new slough thats pretty small and the big boat wont work. My brother and I with a 55 lbs lab all go in it and its absolutely amazing. Im 6'6" 210 lbs and my brother is 6'4" 200 lbs and we can both sit on the side of the boat without it tipping. We can both stand and shoot and as you can imagine thats pretty top heavy with our height and we dont have a problem at all. Very light and easy to get to the slough also. The gun rack on the side, the ammo box holders, the decoy holders and everything else along with it is amazing. By far the best boat I have seen or used
HNTNBUX
I really liked mine until my daughter refused to get in a boat that small. Hunting by myself it was always effective, stable, comfortable and easy to maneuver. Now I have q 1648 Jon boat and the stealth has not moved. For a WMA it is perfect in my opinion I just have not had a reason to go where I can't use a motor.
