Finlander
Who wears hearing protection when hunting ducks and geese? I do as my ears ring constantly (tinitus) and now I have amplified hearing protection when shooting, it really works good! I can hear everthing better and muffs the loud shots when shooting. I used the muff type last spring hunting snow geese and when I forgot to put them on when I shot it was like "Oh No that was loud" and made a little extra ringing going on in my noggin! Won't hunt without them anymore!
nate larson
What kind of muffs did you get and how much were they?
Feathers Rainin
I would like to know as well I am in the market for some. Had my ears rung too many times and I go to a lot of live music so it is a bad mix. I briefly researched it last year and I seem to remember the good ones started around 150 which is well worth it if they work. Any suggestions on brands or certain models and respective price ranges? Thanks
squeeb27
I bought a set at Cabelas when I purchased my first pistol. They are the cheaper ones they cost me 30 dollars if I remember correctly. Well worth it for shooting trap or pistols if nothing else. I was going to try wearing them this year to see what it is like. My brother in-law wears them and swears by it, he usually hears the ducks before I do but I also have ringing of the ears. Figure its worth a shot. skee0025
I use Peltor tactical 6 muffs when running the range and when qualifing. the big C has them on sale right now for under $60. I havent tried them for hunting, but they do pick up all the sounds on the range well. If you buy some for hunting be sure that they are built to take being out in the elements, or just use them when its not raining out.
