Auger Options - An Opinion

Mid-Lake Rock

For the guys with perms/wheelhouse, I wanted to share what I learned last year. I have a StrikeLite with the composite drilling assembly. I decided to get a 10" chipper and hook it up for drilling in the house. I contacted Strikemaster for an opinion and they stated the Robin engine on the Lite had not been tested with a 10" chipper. I wanted the chipper for re-open holes and I like fishing a 10" hole in a house. I decided to roll the dice and use the 10" with the StrikeLite power head.

I was not disappointed.

I fished the wheelhouse on 10 consecutive weekends and we had zero problems. I drilled holes on Fridays with the 10" chipper and then run-and-gun the rest of the weekend with the 8" composite in my portable. No smoke, no fumes makes it perfect for the shack.

Just an FYI post of something I found that works.
