Fins-n-feathers
My hunting buddy has been telling to get a Patternmaster Choke tube. I have been doing fine with a modified RemChoke, so whats so great about a patternmaster? I shoot a modified choke, so is mid range about right? carpshooterdeluxe
Stick with what works. If you are happy with your current patterns/performance, no need to drop $70+ on a pm. I shoot my extended pm choke for everything now that I own one though. I've found it helps keep me consistent if I shoot doves, pheasants, ducks, geese, pigeons, etc. with the same choke. There is no guarantee that simply by buying a patternmaster that you wil automatically get better patterns or become a better shooter. Infact, after finding ammo that patterns the way you like, there can be a learning curve of adjusting your lead for the shorter shot strings. uwleagle
I have an extended range patternmaster and the only time I use it is when I am snow goose hunting. Normally they are tougher to decoy and shots are a little further so I want that tighter pattern at a longer distance. When I am hunting for ducks/canada geese I always use my factory modified choke.
