Ireland Birds

Sturg

Recommended Posts

I was fortunate to travel to Ireland recently. Far less bird life was there compared to here. I didn't see any brightly colored songbirds. They did have 3 different species of crows and a magpie. Crows were the most common bird I saw and they were thick all over Ireland. There was a bird that resemblesour robin in its mannerisms but it did not have a red breast and it was dark brown in color. Mute swans were common but are protected. I talked to a local hunter and they get many of the same ducks we have here(canvasbacks, mallards, widgeon, goldeneyes and cinnamon teal).
