Forest Lake

Recommended Posts

Alright fellas, what's the word? Anyone been out there recently?

I've only made it into #3 (the eastern most one... i think that it is #3...)in the past. Which is the best of the chain for muskies?

How about Clear Lake? I had a buddy pop a 20 lb about a decade ago, anything more recent?

Thanks

Alright fellas, what's the word? Anyone been out there recently?

Isn't the water incredibly warm still?

I have heard it explained to me - that catch and release of a muskie would be the equivalent of a human running 5 miles or more - now put the time out of the water not being able to breath in the equation - and that is under ideal conditions. Put the bath water temp with very low oxygen in there also, how is that fish going to have a chance.

good luck if you get out, but I hope you consider a quick water release - or just try bassin for a little while longer.

Heck I'm clearing a honey-do-list so I can get more time when the conditions are better.

Don't mean to preach or come off like an elitist, just trying to help a fellow angler make an educated decision.

The lake I was on yesterday had surface temps near 84. This is a deep lake as well. Over 120 feet and much of the lake is greater than 50. Not real good right now. My musky gear is on the shelf for a while. Yesterday was spent just housing around.
