I was getting all the stuff together to pack and replace the seals on my wheel bearings and saw these turbo hubs at northern tool HSOforum. I was wondering if anybody has used these on there fish houses. It seems to me there would be no maintenace. If a guy keep an eye on oil level and carried extra seal and oil these seem like they might be the way to go. I raelly thinnking of switching any input would be helpful thanks. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200332367_200332367

They call it an oil bath hub. Looks like it would be easy to check oil levels and oil would continually lube unless out of oil. There is alot of boat trailers going to this type of hub. Seems like a great upgrade. You just never know if the grease in your typical hubs is doing it's job until it is too late. If a seal goes though a greasable bearing may make it a little longer since oil will likely leave the hub faster. My opinion only.

That is the same or similar type of hubs that is used on tractor trailers dump trucks. i think its an excellent system. Easy to maintain. The only drawback is that the sight glasses break. you get rocks or road debris that will break it then you have to replace the hubcap hopefully before you take out the seal and or bearing.
