jblabsnduck
For some reason my red/green bow light (navigation) light won't work. There is another little white light that is part of the red/green light that works but the red/green will not work.Any idea why this would be?Need a new switch maybe?Even bought a brand new bow light, no go.(white light works though)
Retro Active
Have you checked to see if you have power at the light connection/socket with the switch powered on? If you have a multimeter, take the two leads and put one on each contact. You should have something around 12.6v (or -12.6v if the contacts are on the wrong side) or so (battery fully charged) with the switch on. If you have voltage there, then there is something amiss with the light itself. If you don't have voltage, then check for power coming off the switch. I would think if you are getting another light on the same setup to work, then the bulbs might be burned out. A long shot perhaps, but something to look at.You could also fashion a couple of leads, one to the positive and negative terminals of a 12v battery, and power the light directly to see if it works if there is power applied directly without being in the socket on the boat. Jim Almquist
In my boat it is a 3-way switch. In one direction it will only light the stern white bulb and the other it will light the stern and bow lights.
