Tiger Muskies

Good morning everyone,

Has anyone fished Crystal Lake in Robbinsdale for Tigers yet this year? I'm curious if it's worth checking out and if so, what a decent spot to try might be. I don't have a boat and the only real spot to fish from is the pier on the north end...there's a hump just out from it that I'm guessing would hold fish, but I just wanted to hear someone else's opinion. Thanks.

crystal was good for awhile then it seemed to get really nasty, might have been due in part to low water, haven't been out there for a few years.

it's worth checking out though for sure, at least once. i'd strongly recommend heading down to the south end of the lake though and casting off the shoreline by the boatramp, especially if there is any weedgrowth this year. rake that area with bucktails and smaller spinnerbaits, they used to really stack up down there and are easily reachable from shore.

tried the pier once last year for a few hours and got nothing. prob try again this year with a canoe. if youre looking for metro musky action, id hit cedar lake or any of those lakes in that chain.

Thanks 50...that water got so low last year that a guy had to wade about 20 feet before getting into 5 FOW, I'm sure it's a lot better this year after all the rain we got. Plus, I think that south bay finally filled up, which could be promising. Thanks again.

Thanks Gekhang...I've been meaning to get out to that chain here at some point, I kind of wanted to give Crystal another chance since it's only a couple blocks away from my house but wasn't sure if a guy could even get out to the good structure from the shore given the depth situation with that lake last year. I guess we'll see, thanks again.

I used to live out that way and went to Crystal many times, got bass but no muskies. I would always hit the areas on the lake side closest to 81/Broadway. Work from the landing on up.

There was also a sunken island just off the pier.

Haven't been to that lake in years, ironically that I was just thinking about it a few days back too. Good luck
