Declaring Firearms

Recommended Posts

I understand that entering Canada you must declare all firearms, and fill out all the necessary forms. However, what about the American side before you get into Canada?

This summer I will be going to Alaska, of course through Canada. Will the Americans in Alaska be looking for paperwork that I had first checked my firearms when I left North Dakota?

If so, then every duck hunter or moose hunter that goes to Canada must do this. It has been many years since we hunted in Canada and never checked anything on the American Side. Thanks

You don't need to do anything. I have crossed into Canada once or twice for the last 20+ years going duck hunting. You drive right past the US checkpoint and stop at the Canadian check point. Remember....no handguns.
