trolling suspended eyes

I have started trolling for suspended walleyes about two years ago, reason is because it hit me like a brick that the walleyes in my small shallow lakes are doing the same thing you read about in the bigger lakes. Problem is, when I think I have something going, I cant catch them consistently even though there are no weather changes and I am still marking these fish in the same places and depths. I am really still a rookie at this and would just like anyones 2cents on how to catch these fish consistently, lures, methods ect.

The Brainerd forum and the Alex forum had discussions of this about a month or so back. Check those out. Also Ghotierman from the Alex forum knows how to go about open water trolling. I'm just starting to figure it out.
