Garmin GPS?

I have a Garmin GPS model 12CX which I have had for six years. It has gotten a little "flighty" and won't accept some inputs i.e. time etc. What is the experience of Forum members with Garmin regarding service etc.
The thing cost me $300 bucks and I hate to just trash it! My fear is that they stand behind their stuff about like the rest of the "new age" corporations do.

Look up your model and they give you a flat rate to fix the unit. When they fix the gps it will come back like new and will have all the latest updates and they also fix any cosmetic things . http://www.garmin.com/support/outofwarranty.html
