Boat Care/Colder Weather

I don't want to put my boat away early this year as I would like to fish in late October and maybe into November.

I have Crestliner Superhawk with 115hp Johnson. What should I be doing to protect the boat and motor during the colder weather?

That's a big engine and will probably require more than I mention. Change the lower unit oil. Add Stabil and/or Seafom to the gas.

I have a wee 25H so it's not too bad.

You will want to get all the water out of the engine. You can do this by starting it for a split second out of the water. If you don't feel comfortable doing that then lower the motor down all the way to let the water flow out the bottom. I also like to pull my drain plug when I leave the lake. (just incase any water got in the boat)

You will also want to let your motor warm up longer then you would in the summer!
Other then that just have a blast breaking ice to get the boat in the water. It is too cool!
