Youth ATV

I tried to search for this topic and found nothing. I'm thinking of getting my 6 yr old daughter an ATV this summer. Are there 1 or 2 brands/sizes that I should be looking at? Something under $1000.

We purchased a Suzuki LT80 last year for our 7 year old daugther. Of course it was used as new ones cost a little over $2,000.

I would suggest going in with an open mind on brands and look for the one that was taken care of. Of course having a dealer close by to service (or at least to ourchase parts) is a bonus. You will find in your search most have been abused so look carefully. Whatever brand you purchase she will love it, just be sure to include safe riding gear for her as well.

I just purchased one from Ray's in Brainerd they are an off brand like TaoTao, but for $655 in the box and brand new I couldn't beat the price. The one I just got my daughter is a 125cc, but it has the throttle control adjuster to slow it down. It also has a remote to shut it down since she is little and needs to learn how to use it yet. I'm a 250# guy and this thing carted me down the street at nearly 40mph before I slowed it down. It amazed me. The suspension on this thing also is above what some $2000+ comparable models have.

I bought a 170 youth polaris RZR last summer, it was used and cost 2400. Kind of spendy but I'm guessing resale value will be good, and hopefully it will survive my kids.
