Hybrid Finch

This bird has a goldfinch back, house finch top and a mixed up front. It does not like people and does'nt stay in one place very long. Picture is lousy as it was a quick window shot.

This is just a color variant of House Finch. In California where I grew up I would see birds that were total yellow variants as well as birds like this.

Great looking house finch. I've looked and looked and never seen one like this, but beakgeek is right on about it's id.

Beak Geek, Thanks for pointing that out for me. I definately learned something interesting today. I belong to Cornell but never seen that article before. I thought it came from cross breading. I stand corrected.
