I currently have a 12v 55 lb Minnkota PD v2. I'm interested in upgrading to a 24v motor.

Here's a few questions I have:

Has anyone moved a PD to their transom to use?

Will I see a noticable difference going from a 55 to 70 lb as well as better battery life going to the 24v system?

The 24v 70lb will be a huge improvement over the 55lb 12v. Battery life wil be a litte better because you will be running 2 batteries with an extra 15lb of thrust. As for mounting a PD for a transom appliction, it could be done but would be not as nice as an actual transom mount troll motor.
