headlights dont stay up

Recommended Posts

my daughter has a 1989 buick raetta. 56,000 miles on it clean inside and out. runs great. the problem is during the summer the headlights that retract and when you touch lights they pop up, but now in t he winter one will pop up while the other one goes half up and sometimes both do this. is there a way to keep them up at all times? there is no snow or ice anywhere in the lights area. thanks. good luck.

The problem is usually the headlight motors are worn. There are repair kits available, but for now she/you can open them manually with the small knobs that you can turn by hand. Once they are open you should be able to unplug the motors so they stay open.

have no idea. it has a all digital dashboard. not a spot of rust and the interior is like new except for the cloth material over your head was drooping down and it was pinned up. it's a two door and a two seater. those are actual miles and the engine is clean. even the trunk is spotless. i pressed this light retract button and the lights popped up and stayed up. good luck.
