Portable repair

Well, I finally burned a hole through the portable with my lantern; 1/2" wide by 1 1/2" long. Waht is the best way to repair this? I saw some repair tape at the bait shop, does this stuff stick/work? Any suggestions would be appreciated before the hole enlarges.

canvas glue and a piece of canvas cut to fit the repair you can find it at most hardware stores

I've used iron-on patches for clothes to fix mice holes in my portable. Just warm up the iron and put a patch on both sides. You can use a board to give you hard back to press against. They have held up for a couple of seasons now.

'Tehr Greeze' and a patch of canvas. (Typically sold under a brand name called "Tear Mender"). Should be able to find it at a local hardware/farm supply store. See:
