fishmounter
I need to replace the belt on my 1999 600 griz, is this a easy do it yourself job? It was slipping the other day for the first and I know the belt has never been replaced since purchased new.
Rippinlip
Can't speak of the Grizz personally, but I had to change the one on my Polaris 500 last year while camping, all the tools needed came with the machine and it took very little time to what I was thinking.Harder to find a belt in town where we were staying than to change it. Dave S
If things haven't changed much on the Grizz over the years, they used to have a couple longer bolts that hold the cover on that are also used to screw into the sheeves on the secondary clutch. This helps separate it enough to allow the belt to slide off easily. I've never turned a wrench on a Yamaha (or swung a hammer for that matter ) to know for sure. embearmeoffs
your best bet would be to go to your local library. Check out the Haynes yamaha grizzly owners workshop manual. I have one but my scaner dont work nor my printer, Was going to send you actual manual pages. BUT the local library lets you check these books out for free. i paid 25 bucks but my book so i can help you a little. my grizz 600 didnt come with a manual. but if you want details let me know more spec areas i will try to help if you want.
