you should be more concerned about whether its rising, falling, or staying steady... changes in pressure can often trigger fish to "turn off", but i have slayed them before when a big pressure system was moving in... i usually have my best luck when the barometric pressure is steady for a couple days in a row

Good rule of thumb is rising or high pressure = tougher bite, falling or low pressure = good bite, steady pressure for more than several days should be fine too as the fish will have time to adjust to whatever the pressure is holding at.

Anytime you can get out is good though. I have some memorable trips on days where I expected a tough bite.

+1 - this is right on. Standard barometric pressure is 29.92 in HG
