Chains on 4-wheel drive vehicles

Recommended Posts

Can I run chains on rear wheels of 4-wheel drive truck while locked in 4-wheel? Any suggestions welcome. This slush & snow is making getting around on the lakes hard. Saw a guy today with chains on and he had no problem getting around. Just want to make sure I'm not going to damage something.

ive used chains on all 4s this winter with no problems, i am running big mud tires on a s10 blazer with v bar chains i can go just about anywhere other than up the steep lake banks ;)sure is nice being able to wiz right by people in half ton lifted trucks in 2 wheel drive (:

also get 2 bunji cords for each tire. and make an x it will keep your chains very tight and eliminate slippage or damage from them. just make sure the hooks are facing outwards
