tranducers????

i was wondering what the difference in the degrees of the tranducer is? is it the bigger the number the better or not? what size(meaning number of degrees) should i go with when buying one.
any info is appreciated

The degree of the transducer relates to the angle of the cone. In other words, if you think about the shape of cone, with the point of the cone starting at the transducer and the large part of the cone is at the bottom of the lake. The larger the degree of the transducer means a larger cone on the bottom of the lake, so you get a wider picture of what's down there. I hope that helps.

If fishing steep drops and lots of structure, a narrow cone diameter is better. If you are reading a wide amount of bottom, steep drops and large uneven bottom structures read as a just a big thick line.
