I'm looking for a new transom mount in the 50 lB range for a 16 Ft boat and was wondering if anyone owns one of these.Had a 42 lb minnlota and it lasted 15 years of mostly backtrolling but was was pricing a new one out and the motorguides are a lot cheaper. Or are they just that, Cheap?? I only want one with true variable speed and not the 1-5 gears [PoorWordUsage]. Am I better of buying another Minnkota or are these decent trolling motors that will stand up to some abuse. Also are you able to turn the head around like a Minnkota to make it a better backtroller?
