deposits in barrel

I was cleaning my 870 today and there are a couple of spots I could see that have powder deposits inside the barrel. I tried for about 1/2 hour trying different ways to get it out but no luck. I used the wire brush and cleaning pad wrapped around it soaked with Hopps going up/down and twisting. Any suggestions how to get this stuff out of the barrel. It's really annyoying seeing this when I look down the barrel.

the method you mentioned is how i do it, not sure why yours wont come out

If you are using a brass brush, try a stainless steel brush. They are much stiffer & sharper but won't harm the bore.

plug the barrel, fill with solvent, let sit for a day, then scrub it out.

Probably needs to be polished out by a gunsmith, most likely melted wad stuck to the bore.
