Police Scanners

I am thinking about getting a police scanner. Any advice?

Do you have a Andriod 3g or 4g phone? They have scanner apps.

Be careful one what mhz you buy. I know a lot of them changed mhz's and older scanners no longer work. Not sure on the exact mhz. but I think they old ones you to be an 800 mhz. Those no longer work for other than NoAA Weather Radio

Make sure its not a single trunked scanner. If you go on radioreference you can listen to scanners for free, if your county has signed up, and most in the country have.

I was bored one night and listened to Los Angeles, CA counties scanner- WOW. My county rarely has anything on, while LAs rarely had silence
