Recommended Posts

hows east bethel wma for deer hunting? didnt get one on cedar creek property on my youth hunt so looking into east bethel wma on the west side of 65. hunted squirrels there 2 times and seen lots of deer trails and one good trail leading into bedding areas plus found a bedding spot from deer. i have been almost around the whole wma but not sure if theres more than what i walked thru. did see a tree stand someone chained to a tree in front of a trail.

shuld i give it a go? if anyone deer hunted east bethel wma, how was it? what should i hunt there, trails or find the food sources?

as far as foot trafic goes i ran into about 2 other squirel hunters on my first day there.

got back from scouting east bethel wma yesterday and the place is very dead. trails are unactive verry liitle footprints found, no real signs of fresh deer traveling. the area scouted was the area that has a road going around the area making it easy to follow and get in but at this one spot were you can see a huge swamp and on the other side is heavy forested part of the wma looks good. maybe all the deer moved over there but cant figure how to get over to the other side. not sure if its a huge swamp or a dried out swamp, its all brown with spots of green around there.
