Cold front walleyes

Hey guys I need some opinions. I have never done very well during cold fronts but know walleye can be caught during them. Last weekend my buddy was on a pretty good bite. He said the water temp was 69. He was fishing in 21-25 ft of water trolling leadcore with jointed shad raps and hot n tots. This week the temps have been in the mid to upper 80's. I am fishing the same lake on Sunday. The high tomm is like 58 and 61 on sunday. Just wondering how you guys would adjust? Would you switch o like a lindy rig and minnow? Shad are our baitfish here so I'm thinking trolling would be best. Would it be better to goto like a flicker shad that has rattles? I have always heard fish deeper during a cold front. With them already being deep do you think they will go deeper? Thanks for the help guys

They are more likely to be neutral or negative, ie. not actively feeding for a while, after a cold front. They are also likely to be tighter to the bottom, tighter to cover, and possibly to slide down to deeper water.

It can be tough fishing after a cold front, no question about it. Some good ideas are to slow down your presentation, down size your baits, and even go to live bait and let it swim around in front of them.

If it was me, I'd make a few passes with the leadcore and what was working for your buddy, and hope the fish are still active. If not, then I'd slow down, then I'd try live bait. Good luck.
