Never had to apply for a permit before so I was wondering how long does it take to get results from the DNR..

I believe it is usually around the second week of October when they mail out the postcards to you if you are a lucky recipient. Otherwise once they are sent out and if you have the urge to know right away if you got one you can go on the dnr HSOforum click on the lottery link and type in your dnr # and it will tell you if you get a permit.

Antlerless Deer and Special Hunt Lottery

Application available with deer license purchase in early August.

Deadline for lottery first Thursday after Labor Day. Lottery results are available in mid October. Left over permits go on sale October 13th. Lottery winners will be notified before the October 13th.

Last year they had a link on the DNR web site where you could enter your license# and birthday (I think) and it told you if you were drawn or not. I'm not even going to check this year (100 permits). I have a better chance of winning the PowerBall.
