Waders

Hi all,

I spent all of last weekend trout fishing, and definitely loved every minute of it. One thing I noticed, however, is that the guys with the waders, were able to access alot of spots that I couldn't get back to. So I think for next season, I might look into purchasing a set of waders. What does everyone here use?

Look into Cabelas Dry Plus or Patagonia Watermaster waders. Pats are tougher, which is nice when busy wacking, but also more expensive ($300). Patagonia also is about as good as it gets with returns/repairs. The Dry Plus are thinner but Cabelas also is good with returns. Buy what you can afford and keep the receipt. Good luck.

Just replaced some Cabelas Bluestreams (no longer made) that failed after a few years but were fine while they lasted. My new ones are Frogg Toggs; they were a good value and are working out so far.

Keep in mind that Cabela's warranty policy has recently changed--most of their branded items now only carry a one year guarantee (although they did make an exception in my case). Apparel and footwear still have a lifetime guarantee, but waders do not fall into either category.
