JPowell
Hey fella’s I want to bring up a question and sorry if it has been covered before. Just wondering how much cover do you really need on you layout blind? I have a Finisher in the khaki color. I mud it up really good every year. As I watch some hunting videos I see some being unbelievably brushed in and some that you can still tell they are noticeable. What are your thoughts on how much you need to be brushed in? I am assuming that the common answer will be "the more the better" but what about time when you can not find enough to fill up every little strap that the blind has to offer? The other thing I am wondering that I see in videos is how much of your head can really be out of the blind. I have always thought you needed to be 100% in the blind but there are plenty of times that I see people with their heads sticking out and calling birds in just the same. Thanks for viewing JP
B. Amish
if you're calling, you need to be watching the birds to see how they react and where they are so you know how to call to them.... guys that aren't calling - there's no need to be watching the geese so they should be 100% covered up. imo.i like to get as much cover on my blind as possible. geese get smart in a hurry. geese will let you when they're seeing something wrong in your spread. Finlander
Those videos are filmed in Alberta and Saskatchewan where there are so many young and dumb birds that you could be dancing in the field as they approach and still shoot all you want. Sticking your head out of the layout blind won't matter there!
