Duplicate text messages

Whenever I send my wife a text from my Mytouch android phone, she gets two messages instead of one. So far I have only noticed it when I send her a message. I can see it on my outbox that it sends her two also. Any ideas?

Same thing happens to me and I've read where others have the same problem but are using different SMS apps which led me to believe it was carrier related, but you don't have Sprint do you?

Sometimes the person I'm sending texts to (Verizon) gets duplicates and sometimes I receive duplicates, but it hasn't happened in a while now.....

Purely a guess, but you don't have her in your contact list two different ways or something like that?

Yes, she is listed in my gmail contacts more than one location, but so are some other folks. Should they only be in one place in my gmail contacts?

Dunno for sure...I was just brainstorming about things to consider.

Got it figured out. I had her listed twice in my phone. Guess I needed to make sure to make my point

So this was happening on every text message?

The issue I have only happened every once in a while and I think is carrier related.
