Guest
We recently purchased a boat and are looking for a good spot within 1 hour of south Minneapolis to camp, fish, and water ski this weekend. A descent walleye lake is preffered. Is Lake Byllesby any good? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
jegerjack
Be careful on what you ask, some people on this board have a bad take on water skiers.... Personally, I am not as sore as most people but I would look for a larger body of water, that way you can have your cake and eat it too..... Good luck.....JegerJack ------------------"What did the old man trade for these guys, a used puck bag?"
Aquaman01
Waterskiing? Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, anywhere but here! I am so very much kidding!! Try the DNR site for State Park campgrounds. Your problem is getting all 3 of those from one body of water. Hmmm....Elk River/Big Lake/BuffaloThere's a campground on hwy 10 between Elk River & Big Lake.Big Lake/Mitchell Lake has more speedheads than fishheads. Municipal launch (water tower) is $5.00, the other end of the lakes is off Park Ave and the launch is free - but you have to park a block away.In Monticello there are two public launches onto the Mississippi (ask the bait shop for location), and then 15 miles away in Buffalo is Buffalo Lake & Pulaski - for fishing. Launches are free - but parking is sparse.Good luck. I'm sure there is stuff down by you, but this is all I can think of. ------------------Aquaman<')}}}}}><{Peace and Fishes
