Wondering what I should pay for a new 25hp 4 stroke?

Our 40 hp Evinrude bit the dust. We are looking for a new motor, don't have a clue what they are or should be going for. Would like to go new, but really don't have to, would just like a pro to hook it all up for us. Any suggestions?

Head for the nearest dealership. Tell them what you told us. They will offer you their best deal on a new 25 and if you don't want to spend that much ask them for best price on late model used motor. I just paid $1000 for a 6-HP four stroke for a small boat.You will likely pay three times that much for a NEW 25 4stroke. I paid close to $5000 for a 25 Honda 4-stroke.

Start at the closest dealer and go from there. Best of luck and have fun with it.
