Have you tried plastic white curly tail or mr twister?I suppose the tape is more durable!

I never have tried that. As long as it dosent affect the action of the lure it should work. The tape is less water resistant. I think what the tape does is give it some tail action. Must be similar to what they are used to eating. Like a small walleye. Remember that this lure is a very big lure. But I have caught pike under 1 pound with it. Agressive little buggers. Give it a shot, you might be surprised. - Red

Great info guys!! You have helped a bunch (plus it's great to check the messages!!) We leave in a day, Tues night. I'm having a tough time finding some power-pro here in Colorado, so I think I'm going with 20lb Fireline. I'm sure we'll stop at a few places on the way up, so if we find some "Pro" I'll pick some up! Again, Thanks for all the posts, and I'll give ya the scoop when I get back!
