FISH CANCER

Recommended Posts

The only disease that I know of that would look like a cancer is one that affects walleyes and that is lymphocystis. The disease appears as bumps on the skin of the fish. This disease is not a problem as far as consumption is concerned.
God lyk!

The bumps on the walleye skin is also known as walleye dermal sarcoma virus and disappears with warming water temps. I think it was Cornell univ vet school that was doing some research on this. These are pretty typical on fish up north, in the beginning of the year.
