Livewell won't shut off

The livewell on a friends Crestliner won't shut off. When the switch is off the livewell still runs. He unplugged the livewell in the back by the pump. However the indicator light was still on when his livewell switch was in the off position. I assume he has a bad switch. Any ideas?

My Crestliner did the same thing last month.....but it happen right after i fished in the rainstorm and drove it home with no cover, but i unplugged the battery and let the boat sit out in the sun to dry for two days and its back to normal.
