Transducer and Speed Sensor

When mounting both the Transducer and Speed Sensor for Lowrance how much space should be left between the two. Or will the not affect on another. I was just thinking that with the wheel spinning on the speed sensor it might kick up air bubbles that would affect the transducer.

I just looked out in my garage and mine are 6 inches apart and I've never had a problem. I'm not a pro boat rigger but from experience I've never seen anything odd on my Lowrance that would lead me to believe the speed sensor wheel was interfering. Another thought, if you can mount them on opposite sides, I know it's never that easy but just my thoughts. Good luck
