I-pilot Spot Lock ???

Muskiebait

Question

Ipilot spot lock is able to store 3 locations, my question is,is this the last 3 locations you were at? does it override a previous location if you have already spot locked on 3 plays, so if I do three spots and have A B C in there and go on to a 4th spot will that override the first (A) spot?

You can select which of the 3 that you want to override. When you hit the save button you can select A,B, or C by the number of times it is pushed.

I couldn't tell from your post so I wanted to clarify. You have to hit a button to "save" each spot lock position. Just because it was the last place you were at doesn't mean that it gets saved.

Sorry I think I confused you here.

You only have to hit the "anchor" button one time once you are on a spot that you want to hold position on. For instance your on a drift and hook a fish, you hit the "anchor" button for about two seconds and it will then flash A. If you then just leave it the unit then holds that position and it is saved as position A. It then holds you on that spot until you push another button. That spot is also saved in the memory and you can push the return button and it brings you back to that spot.

Going back to the above situation, after you hold the button for two seconds and the A is flashing you can leave it to save it as A as said above or push it one time to save it as B or twice to save it as C.

I hope that makes sense. I was just trying to point out that you do have to save a position in order to go back to it.

I haven't used the trail function much but you basically push a button to start your saved trail, troll or drift the pattern you want and then hit an end button to save it. You can then repeat that trail either forward or backward. As far as I know you can't make a pass and then go back and save it after the fact, you have to basically hit "record" prior to starting your pass.

It's really an easy remote to use. My 6 year old was running it pretty well by the end of this weekend. The only two things that I found to watch out for are as follows...

the rabbit key, it's acually a picture of a rabbit, this button kicks the motor to speed 10 immediately. Sending you flying if the 6 year old doesn't warn you.

the "anchor return" button does basically the same thing. If you hit it when you are a ways away from a spot you saved it kicks the motor on speed 10 to get you back to that spot fast. Again causing a good jerk if he doesn't warn you it's coming!

I've only used it two weekends but I love it so far. The spot lock/anchor function really holds you on a spot well. It does appear to work better with some wind as when it was calm it would overshoot the spot and then have to correct back to it. It always stays within about 10 feet though and the GPS seems to lock on fast and keep a good signal.
