CRFan1
Hey guys,Leaving for my yearly Whitefish trip (been going up there 22 years) and we always do very well on most fish, with the exception of Crappie and I was looking for some help. I have decided this year I want to try and focus on getting some better Crappie numbers. I have mainly tried places like Arrowhead lake but mixed results. What tactics would you be trying to use (assuming decent weather) that first week of june (I do have puddle jumpers and just about anything else). Are there any lakes on the WFC that have a better Crappie population that I could target? I am not afraid to motor. Thanks for the help/advice! ozzie
at that time your guess is as good as mine as I would probably check the shallows as they may still be around with how this spring has been but if they aren't there I think I would work deep weed lines and see how they are relating to the weeds either in them on the edge of them or cast out from them to deeper water nearby......Good Luck on the Whitefish Chain!! eckum54
just got back from cross, was fishing may 22nd and 23rd...and we nailed the crappies. fishing back bays on the south east side of the lake right next to the docks and shore line...the were all sitting in their beds right where the sandline would meet the weed edge, in anywhere from 2 to 5.5 feet of water...they bit the best on fatheads and a white or siver jig head or a flu-flu also worked well...kept about 30 between 4 of us, all between 10 and 14 inches

I am leaving for the WFC a week from tomorrow so I am hoping they will still be going. Been a few years since since the weather cooperated for us so I have my fingers crossed!
