Spinning Rod Question

I've been given a 6'-6" spinning rod by brother-in-law whose brother is a fishing sales rep. It has limited markings, appears to be some sort of prototype. All it says is "6-15 lb line, 1/4 to 5/8 oz lures". Is this a "medium" or "medium light" rod. What type of fishing is this most appropriate for and what would be a good spinning reel to match this rod.

Welcome to FM.com You have a good Walleye/Bass rigging or trolling rod. Its a medium to medium/heavy with probably some good backbone. I would put a Shimano Sedona 2000 reel on it. Priced at around $40.

I'm with D-man - (and welcome) on the bass/walleye rigging.
I'd use that for a general purpose, including deep (20'-40') jigging, IF it is stiff and sensitive. A reel? I don't know - lots of personal preference involved there.
