Make up some names . . .

So, for general hunting this year, I'm considering either a .282 Whiz-bang or a .327 Accel-a-slammer. Any suggestions? I know they both have their merits, but I'd consider something else, if it's fun enough!

The 6.39 Melvin Mag is a good one, but you have to hand load it. You have to start with a .600 Nitro case and neck it down. Then you have to fire-form the shoulder. The only bullets that stand up to the velocity is depleted uranium. All reloads have to be inspected by the Atomic Energy Commision and the ATF. And you usually have to rebarrel after every ten shots.Other than that, its a great load. (don't carry any of the ammo in your jeans pockets if you ever plan on fathering children).

Very nice on the Melvin. I've also considered playing with a 7.62x4 rimmed. I hear it's a great cartridge for bruising and annoying mosquitoes at a range not to exceed 4 inches. Very handy in Minnesota! Another one of interest is the ".38 not-so-special". I understand it shoots wood pellets at velocities which will nearly overtake a standard earthworm (at sea level, of course). My understanding is that it uses rotten elm as a propellant, and is ignited by wet match-heads that are lit by a piece of nichrome wire from an automobile cigarette lighter (much like the Remington Etronix cartridges), but at 1.5 volts instead of 12. An alternative propellant is leftover mulch from your wife's garden, or used coffee grounds. Thanks for the heads-up on the Melvin round and fathering children! I don't plan to, but glowing testicles are a problem regardless of the surrounding circumcisio . . . er, circumstances!
