Dinorwic Lake Fishing Reports

Recommended Posts

Fished up there in mid August last year for Muskie out of Pine Sunset Lodge.

Dinorwic is stained, but not as bad as Wabigoon as I hear. We could get about 12-18" of water clarity. Only maxes out at about 26' deep or so.

We found low light conditions best for the muskie (and pike). This included overcast/rain days.

We are used to fishing Waconia and Minnetonka weeds, so that is what we fished on Dinorwic. Where we found cabbage and pencil reeds, we had some fun with the pike and muskie. Even a 19" smallie on a muskie spinnerbait in about 2' F.O.W.

The walleye guys we were with had the best luck on the south end of the lake.

There wasn't a lot of other boats on the lake and it is big. There are several hazards that are not marked well, or at all. Be careful and don't run all out until you've traveled the route once or twice to verify it is safe.

Good Luck and have fun.
