Alumacraft V14 Split Seat question

I just ordered an Alumacraft V14 split seat
option. Does anybody have any information
on the split? Some specific questions:
1. Can you lift the top on the seats to
access storage? If not, can the seat tops
be cut and modified to create storage?
2. Is this a good option on the V14? It
looks like it will open up the boat a little
bit.
3. Can a guy install a swivel and put an
aftermarket seat on the split seat?

I havent seen a split seat 24 yet but I would guess that the seats are sealed and contain some type of bouyant material. But you would be able to attach a swivel and a seat to the top of it.
