x-mas came early

After a week of fish hunting on LOW ( with great results) I returned to work. For the 1st. time in my 31 years of employment at the same job we recieved a x-mas bonus. Well after reading a bit on lenses here on this site I stopped and bought aCanon 50mm 1.8 and optic trigger. I took some quick shots in the house and I am impressed. This year I have a new 2 week old grandson to go with the 2 grand ladies. I will put this through the test. Do anyone of you have any hints for me? x-mas to me is all about the kids and I hope to capture every moment!.
