Does any one have any advise about trying to seal the wood your self with stains or something else that would make the wood last longer? How many inches should you put between each stud on the floor too? Some one also told me about putting some kind of metal strips on the skids so the ice and stuff does not rip them up is that a good idea?

makes sense...probably could get by with 24" on center. .040 aluminum skin and spray foam it..but I am only looking to do a 12ft v-front and adding a couple more stud shouldn't weigh it down that much more only going 7ft hight walls...
